MABAC Running League
The name MABAC dates from 1977 when the League was first set up. The prime mover was Alan Blatchford, who died in September 1980. He organised a running group at the British Airways Corporation works in Weybridge (now British Aerospace). Ralph Henley brought in runners from Matthew Arnold School, Ashford. Hence MA-BAC.
MABAC arranges a series of races thought the year, most are cross country events in the Surrey countryside. There are in month order, so please scroll down to find the latest event

Windsor - 14th February 2026
This is a Road running event in the MABAC Running League series. The senior race is around 11 km (7 miles) there are also joggers and junior events of about 4.5 km (2.8 miles).

Priory Park - Reigate - 1st March 2026
This is a 5 mile Cross Country event in the MABAC Running League series. The senior race is just over 8 km (5 miles) there are also joggers and junior events of about 4 km (2.5 miles)

Cranleigh 7-14-21 Miles Race - 29th March 2026
The course is 7 miles – 3.5 miles on undulating rural road, then 3.5 miles on the amazingly beautiful and flat “Downs Link”, an old railway line (even past an old railway station).

One lap = 7 miles / Two laps = 14 miles / Three laps = 21 miles
You can choose on the day (even after the race has started) which distance you want to run. Once you stop at the end of a lap, that’s it – a quick toilet break is allowed (though your race clock will still be ticking) but you can’t stop then restart an hour later. The last 7 mile lap must be started before 12.00

To access it, leave the A3 at the first exit after the M25 when heading towards Guildford (Ockham Park roundabout, what3words coins.ruins.cakes) then head down Wisley Lane for 1.4 miles. The car park will be signposted on the right (what3words for the entrance retire.being.belong), approximately 200 metres beyond the Wren's Nest car park.
